Portsmouth Tea Has a Passion

The Portsmouth Tea Company was founded in 2005 by friends Jere Vincent and Marshall Malone. The two shared a passion for tea and were dissatisfied with the indifferent quality of the tea they were getting that was marketed as upscale. So they scoured the world for the finest tea, traveling to many countries and sampling hundreds of teas.

The company now occupies the second floor of a brick building that was once a mill in Somersworth, NH, an hour north of Boston. Dedicated to bringing back New England's tea history, the Portsmouth Tea Company has strict in-house guidelines, and unlike some tea companies, never injects tea leaves with flavor.  Once the teas are selected, the tea masters blend complimentary flavors, fruits and herbs with the tea leaves to create distinctive blends, designed to provide health benefits and pair with sweet and savory dishes.

The company ships products all over the world and now offers more than 130 blends with such adventurous names as Napolean's Dynamite, Miami Ice, Cliff Hanger Iced Tea, Banana Split, Watermelontin, and New England Blueberry Muffin.  Each tea is packaged in a silver and black tin (jpg watermelontin)
